Refunds

If you cancel — what it costs you
  1. You have the right to cancel a distance or off-premises sale within 14 days. If you do, please be aware you will be responsible for the following, which we will deduct from your refund or invoice to you:

  2. Return transport. You pay the full cost of getting the vehicle back to us. If we delivered it to you, returning it will cost a similar amount — for a long-distance delivery this can run to several hundred pounds. We will tell you this cost, or a fair estimate, before you commit.
  3. Mileage. £1 for every mile driven over 20 miles.
  4. Damage, wear and drop in value. Any damage, excess wear, or loss in value from using the vehicle beyond what is needed to check it over.
  5. Running costs. Road tax, insurance and any fines or penalties until the vehicle is back with us.
  6. We refund your delivery charge only up to our cheapest standard delivery rate. Anything you paid for faster or non-standard delivery is not refunded.
Your right to cancel
  1. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel this contract by any reasonable method of communication (for example a letter sent by post, or an email).
Effects of cancellation
  1. Where you have validly cancelled a qualifying distance or off-premises sale, we will reimburse the payments received from you, less the amounts you are liable for below. We only refund delivery up to the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method we offer; any extra you paid for a faster or non-standard delivery is not refunded.

  2. Costs you are liable for. On cancellation you remain responsible for the following, which we will deduct from your reimbursement or invoice to you:

  3. The direct cost of returning the vehicle to us, and full responsibility for its safe return. Where the vehicle was delivered to you, the return cost will be similar to the original delivery cost. We will tell you the cost, or a reasonable estimate, before you commit to a delivered sale.
  4. A deduction for use over and above a standard test drive: £1 for each mile driven over 20 miles.
  5. A deduction for any damage or excess wear, and for any loss in value of the vehicle resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
  6. Any road tax, insurance, fines, charges or penalties relating to the vehicle until it has been accepted back at our premises. The vehicle must not be driven from the date you notify us of your cancellation, other than to return it to us.
How we reimburse you
  1. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day we receive back from you the vehicle and all documents which were supplied including, but not limited to, service histories and the V5 documentation. We reserve the right to register the vehicle with the DVLA only on expiry of your 14-day cancellation period.
  2. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. This may include handing back any part exchange vehicle if still available and/or seeking payment from you to cover any negative equity.
  3. We will withhold the reimbursement until we have received the vehicle and all paperwork back in good order, and you must return the vehicle no later than 14 days from the day you tell us you are cancelling.
