The Diablo 50 is the most popular 50cc we sell. It has sharp, sporty styling that young riders like, and the running costs parents want. It weighs 97kg and has a 770mm seat, so it's easy to push around and easy to put your feet down at junctions.
The fuel injected 4-stroke engine doesn't need 2-stroke oil. The automatic gearbox means no clutch or gears to learn. It's road legal at 16 with a CBT.

50cc Questions
Licences, CBT, finance and delivery
How old do you have to be to ride a 50cc moped?16. You need a provisional licence with moped (category AM) entitlement and a CBT certificate.
What can I do on a CBT?You can ride a moped on the road with L-plates. We fit them for you. You can't carry a passenger or use motorways. At 16, a moped CBT lasts 2 years. After that, you pass the full moped test or take the CBT again.
Can I ride a 50cc on my car licence?If you passed your car test before 1 February 2001, yes. You don't need a CBT or L-plates. If you passed on or after 1 February 2001, you need to do a CBT first. Once you've done it, you have full moped entitlement.
How fast does a 50cc go?UK law limits mopeds to 28mph (45km/h). Every 50cc we sell is built to that limit.
Abutomatic or geared?An automatic (twist and go) like the Diablo 50 is the easiest way to start: no clutch, no gears. A geared moped like the Neco NC-50 teaches clutch and gear control, which helps when you move up to a 125.
Can I get finance on a moped for a 16-year-old?Finance applicants must be 18 or over, so a parent or guardian usually applies. All finance is subject to status and income. See our finance page for details.
What about insurance?You need insurance before you ride away. The cost depends on the rider's age, postcode and where the bike is kept overnight, so get a quote before you buy. We can give you the details insurers ask for.
Do you deliver?Yes. Delivery on new bikes is free within 99 miles of our showroom (HX3 0UA) by the fastest Google Maps route. That covers Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, York, Liverpool and Hull. We offer discounted delivery beyond 99 miles.
