The Rieju MRT 50 SM is built around the liquid-cooled Minarelli NG 50cc two-stroke, a proven engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and Dell'Orto PHBN 16 carb — proper gears to work through rather than a twist-and-go, which makes it a genuinely engaging first geared bike. Separate two-stroke mixture means no pre-mixing fuel, and the 6.32-litre tank goes a long way on a 50.
Underneath sits a high-strength steel double-cradle perimeter frame with a detachable rear sub-frame, a 37mm telescopic fork up front and a mono-shock at the rear. Wide 17-inch aluminium wheels wear road-biased tyres, with a 260mm front disc and 200mm rear disc — real stopping power for a bike weighing just 85kg dry, and it flicks through town traffic exactly the way a supermoto should.
The riding position is upright on proper supermoto bars, with an 870mm seat height that gives a commanding view of traffic. The digital dash includes temperature and low-oil warnings, and there's a keyed fuel cap for security.
