This 2017 Suzuki GSX-S750 is built around a retuned version of the legendary K5 GSX-R750 inline four, producing 112 bhp from 749cc with masses of low-down grunt and a proper induction roar as it revs to its 11,500rpm redline. Owners regularly report top-gear roll-on that embarrasses bikes with bigger reputations, yet it's docile enough to chug through town at 30mph and still returns around 50mpg.
The chassis is a big step on from the GSR750 it replaced: 41mm KYB inverted forks, preload-adjustable rear shock, redesigned swingarm and 10-spoke cast aluminium wheels. It's stable, predictable and carries its 213kg with ease, and owners consistently praise how it handles on tight twisties and fast sweepers alike.
Braking comes from twin 310mm discs with four-piston Nissin radial calipers and a 240mm rear, backed by ABS as standard. Three-stage traction control is also fitted and can be switched off entirely, and the LCD dash from the GSX-S1000 includes a gear indicator and fuel gauge.
Reliability is the real story here. The K5-derived motor is a famously solid unit.
At 820mm the seat height suits taller riders, the 16-litre tank gives around 150 miles between fills, and the naked-bike riding position is comfortable enough for three or four hours in the saddle.
