The 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke is powered by a brutal 1301cc 75° V-twin producing 160 bhp at the rear wheel and a massive 99 ft-lb of torque. It delivers ferocious midrange punch and roll-on acceleration that pins you back, with effortless wheelies in the first three gears when you want them, backed by a wild, addictive exhaust note full of burble and overrun pops.
Despite the huge power, the lightweight tubular steel trellis frame (189 kg wet) and fully adjustable WP suspension make it surprisingly forgiving and agile on the road — quick steering, planted feel through corners, and stable at speed. It transforms into a proper sportsbike when you push harder.
Riding position is upright and commanding with decent legroom, adjustable levers and two-position bars, making it comfortable for longer rides while keeping you fully in control.
It looks every inch the beast with aggressive naked styling, high-quality finishes and that unmistakable orange KTM attitude.
Electronics include switchable ABS, traction control and multiple ride modes (with a Supermoto mode for playful rear slides). Brakes are seriously strong with 320 mm front discs.
