The suspension and brakes on this bike were modified to top specs, which were the greatest changes made to the chassis. Rather than radicalising the 2014 Z1000, Kawasaki enhanced it with the 41mm big piston forks, which are similar to the ZX-6R but retuned with independent function. Improved intake funnels and a modified EFI/ECU improved throttle responsiveness, while new oval header link pipes and cams added more mid-range grunt without sacrificing top end power. Reliability shouldn't be too much of a problem here because it's a tried-and-true lump with high-quality parts, and the overall level of polish and accessories makes the older Zeds seem tacky.
